What are the parking restrictions on public streets?

On-street parking on public streets is discouraged because streets are not of a width to accommodate such parking and still allow safe, two-way vehicle movement. On-street parking would also impact the ability of emergency vehicles (police and fire) to access property.

If a property owner is to host an event which may result in some on-street parking (graduations, weddings etc.), property owners are encouraged to contact the Police Department in advance of the event. Typically, parking will be limited to one side of the street to ensure ample area for the passage for emergency vehicles.
