The I-494 construction between Hardman Avenue in South St Paul and Blaine Avenue in Inver Grove Heights will be completed in fall 2019.  Starting this week, an eight-mile section of I-494 between 3rd Avenue in Inver Grove Heights and the east side of the Minnesota River Bridge will also undergo pavement reconstruction and bridge repair work.  In addition to pavement reconstruction and bridge repair, the project work will include lighting replacement, turn lane installation and signal replacement at I-494/Pilot Knob Rd., drainage updates and pond construction.  The improvements will enhance safety, improve traffic flow, provide a smoother riding surface and extend the life of the pavement and bridges.  There will be several major traffic impacts during this work including multiple weekend road closures on various sections of I-494 in this area.  Please click here for a brief description and scope of work.  The project website is: www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/i494invergroveheights/
