Musser Park Trail clearance completed
 Â
A heavy wet snow event that occurred two years ago caused partial breakage of many trees and major tree branches throughout the park two springs ago. That event created the predisposition for branch breakage leading to severe windfall onto trails during several summer 2025 windstorm events.
Â
On March 12, the trails in Musser Park were cleared of debris that had fallen during that time and several of the windstorms last summer. Morgan’s Tree Service was contracted to do this one-time trail clearing with the goal of widening and clearing the trail, as needed, to achieve space for two persons to easily walk down the trail together. When Jeannine and I surveyed the completed project on Friday we found the trail to be open and ready for use along its entire length. Please look at the project photos showing “before” and “after” images. It is unlikely that the current blizzard will cause significant branch fall onto the trail after this major trail clearing effort.

We hope you will find time to enjoy a beautiful walk in the woods, or even “forest bathing” in Musser Park!
