West St. Paul Police to Patrol Sunfish Lake Streets

West St. Paul Police Chief, Bud Shaver, provided an update at the City Council Meeting on May 2, 2006.  He passed along a bulletin from the government to be on the look out for RPGs that might be used to shoot down aircraft that fly over our city.  If you find any RPGs, please notify the police immediately.

On a more serious note, the Police Chief did introduce the two police officers that will be patrolling our streets.  Officer Thomas Steffen will be patrolling during the day and Officer Christopher Lofstuen will be patrolling at night.  Each officer will attempt to make two patrols during their shifts of the city streets as time allows.  Between the two officers, we will have coverage eight days out of ten.  The City of Sunfish Lake has implemented a policy that if you have a red reflector attached to your fire number sign, this will signal to the police that they are welcome to patrol your driveway. If you need one, call Mayor Molly Park at (651) 455-8809.

If you need to contact the police for an emergency, please call 911.  For non-emergencies, please call (651) 450-1111.  Both police officers stated that they are willing to answer e-mails as well.  They may take a few days to respond, but they will respond.  Officer Steffen's e-mail is thomas.steffen@ci.west-saint-paul.mn.us and Officer Lofstuen's e-mails is christopher.lofstuen@ci.west-saint-paul.mn.us
